Pericle Fazzini nasce a Grottammare (Ascoli Piceno) il 4 maggio 1913. Le sue prime sculture nascono nello studio del padre, intagliatore. Nel 1929, su suggerimento dall'amico di famiglia, il poeta Mario Rivosecchi, viene mandato a Roma a frequentare i corsi di disegno dell'Accademia di Belle Arti.

Biographie. Enfant, Pericle Fazzini travaille avec ses frères dans l'atelier de menuiserie de la famille, où il apprend à sculpter le bois. En 1930, avec l'aide du poète Mario Rivosecchi, il s’installe à Rome pour étudier à l'École libre du Nu [1].Ses notes témoignent, de son intérêt pour la sculpture baroque, une admiration juvénile pour Auguste Rodin, Antoine Bourdelle et Maillol.

Intended to capture the anguish of 20th century mankind living under the threat of nuclear war, La Resurrezione depicts Jesus rising from a nuclear crater in the Garden of Gethsemane .
