    RINDISBACHER, PETER, painter; b. 12 April 1806 in Eggiwil, Switzerland, second son of Pierre Rindisbacher and Barbara (Barbe) Ann Wyss; d. 12 or 13 August 1834 in St Louis, Mo. Peter Rindisbacher’s family were German-speaking members of the Reformed Church. His father was a middle-class farmer who began to work as a veterinarian in 1806.
