I studied graphic design at Liverpool College of Art in the late 1960s and this experience has informed my painting style ever since whether it be the industrial heritage of South Yorkshire, sporting arenas or Yorkshire landscapes. My work is held in many private and public collections including The National Mining Museum in Wakefield.

Peter Watson attended Hull College of Art and Liverpool College of Art in the 1960s followed by a career in teaching firstly in Richmond and then the Scarborough area. Initial inspiration from industrial landscapes of Yorkshire led to Peter Watson being commissioned by the Coal Board to produce a record of 14 collieries in South Yorkshire.
