Pierret “Super Artiste” Model Tenor Saxophone. Made in Paris, France. Read the Pierret story down below. Real interesting sax! A collector’s item? On the back above the serial number, #1985, it reads “Super Artiste”. It has a nail file G# key, just like the old Conn Chu Berry’s and 12 M’s as well as some of the German made horns.

Pierret Super Artiste tenor saxophone. This sax appears to have its original lacquer almost 100% intact, and is in excellent overall condition. This model was introduced in the 1950's and may have been made up until the 1970's, roughly the same period of time that Selmer made the Mark VI. Pierret Super Artiste tenor... Pro or no? Sax on the Web ...

Feb 24, 2007 · Is a Pierret Super Artiste a pro horn, a student horn or an intermediate horn. Even though it does not have the modern keywork, it seems to have a quite fast and light action. I don't plan to have it as my main tenor but it is a nice 2nd (or 12th) horn. It definately has the "French" sound and with an old Selmer Airflow/Soloist, I can get a very vintage, even "foo foo" tone.

Pierret Super “Artiste”. The Pierret sound is somewhere between the refined elegance of a Selmer Mark VI and the strident, in your face quality of a Conn 10M... depending on how you approach it. This particular Super Artiste is a beautiful example of one of their best horns. It has a huge, unique voice and a gorgeous, vintage "Road Warrior" patina in spite of being in tip-top condition.
