Dec 18, 2002 · Napachie Pootoogook was a Canadian Inuit artist born on June 26, 1938 at the Sarruq Island camp, Qikiqtaaluk region, Nunavut. Pootoogook is the only daughter of acclaimed artist Pitseolak Ashoona. Her father, Ashoona, died when Pootoogook was six or seven years old.
