May 13, 2016 · I owned an Made in England Premier Artist Birch Club kit in silver sparkle lacquer and it was a really well made kit.I have seen some of the newer Chinese made Artist Birch kits and they are not near as nice as the made in England models.One of the biggest differences is the chrome plating on the made in England kit is far superior, it just gleams under the stage lights.

Aug 05, 2004 · Hey all, Recently in an attempt to keep prices down and increase. production efficiencies the Premier Artist series (Maple and Birch) are currently made in Taiwan. The original Artist Maple and Birch kits. that were introduced a few years ago were made in Leicester, England.

Mar 24, 2005 · Premier series are 3mm undersized. If you get a chance to look at a kit, you'll notice there is a little more of a gap between the collar of the drum head and the actual shell. The artist series isn't as undersized. From what I've looked at there wasn't anything that struck me as a lower quality of wood being used for Artist.
