Mar 24, 2005 · Premier series are 3mm undersized. If you get a chance to look at a kit, you'll notice there is a little more of a gap between the collar of the drum head and the actual shell. The artist series isn't as undersized. From what I've looked at there wasn't anything that struck me as a lower quality of wood being used for Artist.

Overall the Premier Artist Birch is great and very effective kit! Great sounding and looks great! Dynamic control is fantastic and this kit and suit a variety of different styles from Latin to Heavy Rock. Hardwear looks great and a quick double chain bass drum pedal is quick acting and easy to use!

Dec 11, 2007 · Premier's out-of-the-ordinary kit in their otherwise mainstream Artist Series. You'll need a big car to move this lot around. Includes a simple chain-driven bass drum pedal. The 61/2" deep snare drum is lovely.
