The kit is 10x8 & 12x9 toms, 14x14 & 16x16 Floor Toms, 14x5 snare and 22x18 Bass Drum. The sound is awesome. The snare has a beautiful woody tone with a really nice crack. 10 and 12 inch toms are responsive with a good tone. Floor toms sound really good with a real punch even when tuned low. Aug 24, 2011 · The idea was sold to Premier and sets (originally called Kenny Clare Resonators) came out in early ’73 with cross-laminated birch inner and outer shells with beech strengthening rings. They included full-length lugs too, except on the floor tom, and at the time felt a snare drum was too small to benefit from the inner skin treatment.

Mar 24, 2005 · Premier series are 3mm undersized. If you get a chance to look at a kit, you'll notice there is a little more of a gap between the collar of the drum head and the actual shell. The artist series isn't as undersized. From what I've looked at there wasn't anything that struck me as a lower quality of wood being used for Artist.
