As far as starter drum kits go the Premier Artist Birch does a fine job, it's quite versatile, can sound very nice when tuned well and is very easy to play. Aug 24, 2011 · The idea was sold to Premier and sets (originally called Kenny Clare Resonators) came out in early ’73 with cross-laminated birch inner and outer shells with beech strengthening rings. They included full-length lugs too, except on the floor tom, and at the time felt a snare drum was too small to benefit from the inner skin treatment.

Mar 24, 2005 · Premier Artist series drums - Quality? I'm looking into purchasing a new kit soon. A three-piece shell set to be exact, a 12x8" or 12x9" rack tom, a 16x14" or 16x16" floor tom and a 20x18" bass drum with 20 lugs are my criteria.
