A very interesting book by an Australian writer about how artists are inspired by or explore death as a theme in their work. I enjoyed it thoroughly and will read it again soon. I now want to further investigate a lot of the artists, filmmakers and writers referenced. The book design is divine.4.2/5

Dr Prudence Gibson is Research Fellow at Art and Design, UNSW. She is Lead CI on the 2020-23 ARC Linkage grant Exploring the cultural value of Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens Herbarium collection using an environmental aesthetic. Her area of research interest is Critical Plant Studies (Environmental Aesthetics) that addresses the crossover between plant collections and art/narrative.
