Biography. Rae Smith PAC (Pastel Arts.ca) has been painting with pastels for over 40 years. He has been influenced by artists David Whitzman and Claude Monet. He lives in Sackville, Nova Scotia and spends his summers at his cottage on the ocean in East Chester. Sailing Mahone Bay provides most of his subject matter.

Bio: Rae Smith is a member of Pastel Society Canada, VANS (Visual Arts Nova Scotia), Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Chester Art Centre. Rae started painting at a very early age, and started taking Saturday Art Classes at the College of Art in Halifax, when he was 12, painting from live models.
