We have opened with two exhibitions; ‘Under the Spell of the Sea’, a reflection on the work of the late Hobart maritime artist Bill Mearns and ‘Writing and the Sea’, an exhibition exploring a selection of objects and stories from the museum’s collection from the perspective of writing in all its myriad forms. "Under the spell of the Sea" - that is the title of our wonderful exhibition on the work of well-known maritime artist Bill Mearns. Sadly, Bill passed away in January, but he and his family had been able to come and see the exhibition installed and completed. Many Tasmanian homes and clubs display examples of Bill's art work.4.5/5
