    Rhoda Webb is a graduate of Goldsmiths College and is a photographer and sculptor. During her career, she has worked on a large number of public art commissions and her large-scale outdoor photographic installations can be seen in many locations in East London, including the approach to the ExCeL exhibition centre and in Stratford, close to where the London 2012 Olympics were held.

    My photography and sculpture explore the human condition through meditations on memory, dreams, transcendence and flight. I am interested in the intangible and unconscious nature of these themes. I use plaster and papier mâché in my sculpture, but am also exploring the use of photographic techniques in the darkroom to create new objects by printing on glass, muslin and stone.

    Click on the thumbnails to view A Crowd of Memories was a project commissioned by the Essex Network of Artists’ Studios (ENAS). Rhoda worked in collaboration with artist Karen Murphy printing images on glass to create an installation that recorded the memories of the residents of Elizabeth House care home in Hadleigh and the relatives of pupils of The King John School in the same area.
