I didn't take art as a subject at school, opting for 'Geometrical and Engineering Drawing' instead. The aviation theme cropped up again when I joined the RAF for what turned out to be just over twelve years. Although I was in the 'Supply' trade, six of the years were spent indulging my love for the high places with the RAF Mountain Rescue Service.

Blackburn Buccaneer S.2B Original: Oil on canvas 30" x 20" (not available). This painting came about because of a request for me to submit two paintings into an aviation art exhibition with the theme of 'Aviation in the North-West'. I'd wanted to paint the view looking down the runway at the nearby BAe Woodford airfield towards the Kinder Scout plateau for some time.
