    Jan 27, 2014 · The Samick is exactly what you would call a starter mandolin. As stated above, mine is laminate (plywood). It will definitely play better with a good set-up. Should serve well to learn on and to develop your mandolin playing expertise. I can't comment on the price, as I don't know the exchange rate between your currency and US Dollars.
