May 10, 2018 · samick produced a lot of Ibanez guitars and basses too. I have a midrange Ibanez that is stock, and my old samick with emg's is more versatile. I would agree they are hit or miss, just like fenders, gibsons and any other mass produced instruments. I'm asking 200 for mine with emg p5j's which means the bass is almost free w/pickups.

Samick Artist Series P/J bass. The neck has a broken truss rod (broken towards the nut, not in the middle). Also a split where the neck meets the body. May be able to be saved with a stewmac truss rod rescue tool, or may just be good for parts. Haven't had time to dig into this too much.

Samick branded models did not start using serials until around 1987. Also, the Indonesian factory did not use serials from it's opening in 1992 until around 2000. However, there were also some Korean Artist Series Strats made around 1995-1996 with no serial numbers, and many Korean-made Japanese Market models had no serial numbers as well.

Jan 25, 2012 · Since Samick basses built after 1999 carry the Greg Bennett brand, this bass was made during or before 1999. This bass is an obvious copy of a Fender Precision bass and, with the exception of the shape of headstock, is nearly identical to a standard P-Bass. (The Fender headstock shape of course has been the subject of many legal battles.)
