    Artist Sandra Lerner first came to Taos in 1979 as a resident of the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico. She said she found the experience so enriching that as soon as life's obligations permitted, she applied for a second residence in 1989. That time she came -- and stayed. "The Wurlitzer residence actually changed my life," Lerner said.
