Jun 24, 2011 · Using the Zune software it only appears possible to sort music on a Zune device by Artist, Album, or Song Title. I can sort my music on my Zune using the Zune interface by genre. I can sort my music in my collection by genre using the Zune software.

Each artist has their own ID of some sort, and all you do with Zune Console is fill in the blanks needed for the artist (write a biography, supply a picture, etc). When the Zune software asks the servers (in this case Zune Console) for information, the custom information is downloaded and stored on your Zune.

Sep 25, 2008 · I've synced my Zune HD today and all of the background artist images, bios and discography have finally disappeared. The album info is no longer linked to the marketplace. Zune Social Tagger confirms that 'the market place is not available in your region'. Presumably the location this data is pulled from has been 'switched off'.
