ARTIST PROFILE. Stephen Scott has called the Fredericton area home throughout most of his career painting. After studying at the Ontario College of Art in the early 1970's he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mount Allison University in 1978. In 1998 he earned a Master of Arts degree in Art Therapy at Concordia University in Montreal.

Stephen Scott Young is known for his watercolor paintings. Inspired by the work of Thomas Eakins, Winslow Homer, and Andrew Wyeth, Young has done highly finished, detailed figurative subjects. A graduate of the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida, Young began working in watercolor in 1976, and took first prize at the American Artists national art competition in watercolors in 1985.
