Working in sculpture, video and installation, Jonty Lees (born 1971) is the fifth artist to emerge from the Tate St Ives Artist Residency Programme at the historic Porthmeor Studios, St Ives. Playful and inventive, his ideas may stem from a desire to employ a particular material or object – from bicycles or Blu-Tack to Bratwurst – with which he explores the eccentricities of human activity.

An abstract painter, his works explore the pictorial possibilities of colour. Built up in layers to a refined, smooth surface, these strictly formal arrangements pose the saturation, rhythm, balance and contrast of colour against architectural space.

Ged Quinn Darkening of the Green 2003/4. Ged Quinn is the second participant of the Tate St Ives Artists' Residency Programme based at the historic Porthmeor Studio, previously occupied by Borlase Smart, Ben Nicholson and Patrick Heron. Biography. Frost was born in St. Ives, Cornwall, the son of Sir Terry Frost. From 1970 to 1973 he studied at the Cardiff College of Art gaining a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. His work featured in the "Art Now Cornwall" exhibition at Tate St Ives in 2007. He has been Artist-in-residence at the Cyprus College of Art, Paphos and the Montmiral School of Painting, France.
