    Terence Michael Shortt, ornithologist, artist (b at Winnipeg 1 Mar 1911; d at Toronto 28 Dec 1986). He joined the ROYAL ONTARIO MUSEUM , Toronto, in 1930, and his career there spanned 46 years, during which he played an important role in the advancement of ornithology in field research and as an artist of exceptional insight.

    Terence Shortt is known for Bird illustration, taxidermy. Terence (Terry) Michael Shortt was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He studied at the Winnipeg School of Art*, and began illustrating birds in 1928. In 1930 he moved to Toronto where he was appointed Artist -- Ornithology at the Royal Ontario Museum. He was also an accomplished taxidermist.

    Apr 05, 2019 · Terrence M. Shortt: was my friend and mentor during the 1960s. Terry worked as a collector, preparator and diorama producer at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto for 46 years. He attended that 1935 meeting in Toronto and the drawing looks very much like his style. He may also have drawn the cartoons in that issue but I cannot be so sure.
