Apr 23, 2015 · Tina Martel is a Canadian artist whose practice includes mixed media, painting, drawing, books, photography, installation and video. Born and raised in Saskatchewan, she began drawing at the age of four, and later, (much later) received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Alberta College of Art and Design.

Tina Martel is a two time breast cancer survivor, artist, and author of Not in the Pink. She was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in 2011 at the age of 54. Tina had been undergoing regular mammograms because her mother had been diagnosed at the age of 48. Two year prior to her own diagnosis, Tina has stopped getting mammograms.
