I would give Karnivool a shot. They're an Austrialian prog-rock band. To me, it sounds like they get a lot of their influence from Tool. They definitely don't sound exactly like them, and often times they are more technical when it comes to the instrumentals (guitars at least), but you can tell that the members listen to Tool and take quite a bit of influence.
