Only a few graphic icons in skateboarding are as omnipresent (until this day) and legendary as “The Ripper”, created by Vernon Courtland Johnson in 1978 for Powell Peralta. You’ve seen it on boards, shirts, jackets, stickers, in videos, as graffiti, selfmade grip tape art and even tattoos over the years.

There is a reason that over 20 years later, the old Powell Peralta boards are considered classics... that reason is VCJ. His designs were ICONIC, yet playful without being cheesy. Lets just face it... without VCJ, the Powell Peralta brand would have never been as strong. So please listen George & Stacy...
