Wim de Roubaix was born in Pretoria in 1951, of French Huguenot stock. From a very early age Wim displayed a great interest in art, and by the age of ten he was making his first attempts at painting. In 1967 Wim attended The Pretoria High School for Art, Ballet and Music. From 1971 he started painting and sculpting full time.
