Im guessing Winamp is pulling folder.jpg and its different procedurally and why you have a short 'draw-distance'. But I do know what you're describing and have had the same issue before. I do not have it with embedded album art though. Additionally, make sure youre sorting your library by 'Album Artist', not just 'Artist'.

Aug 25, 2004 · When we add all of our songs into Foobar, it sorts them by artist. In other programs (like Winamp), it will sort of the music by the folder names. All of my roommates singles will end up at the top of his playlist, and the rest of full albums will be below. He asked me if I could find a way to make Winamp sort his playlist the same way as Foobar.
