Presently, Zhi Lin is a Professor, Painting + Drawing and the Floyd and Delores Jones Endowed Professor in the Arts at the University of Washington in Seattle. Since 2001, he has also served on the faculty of the School of Art and the China Studies Program at UW.

Artist Bio Begun three years after the Tiananmen Square massacre, Zhi Lin focused on a series of paintings about brutal torture methods used in China for centuries. The paintings, layered with screen printing, surrounded by a border and red curtain, are in a style consciously analogous to Western art in the late Medieval/early Renaissance eras.
