    Harry R. Williams, who became deaf in infancy, was one of three deaf and two hearing children born to hearing parents in Columbus, Ohio. He attended the California School for the Deaf at Riverside and received his BA in Art from Gallaudet University. Williams was one of the founders the Deaf Art Movement based in Washington DC.
