The Rimpa School (or Rinpa ), included a group of artists who worked together and were known for a particular style of painting. Even though the school is named after Ogata Korin, the specific Rimpa style originated from Koetsu and Sotatsu. “Rimpa” is translated as “School of Korin”. There were 3 peaks of the Rimpa style, starting with Koetsu and Sotatsu from 1558-1637.
